Exploring The World Of Demulcent Herbs With Nopales, Prickly Pear Cactus

The workshop has been postponed, due to the increasing cases of Covid-19 within San Bernardino County. I apologize for having to cancel this workshop, due to the increasing daily cases and the highly contagious variant, I need to postpone this workshop until further notice.

How can we benefit from demulcent herbs? What are they and how are they used? This hands-on workshop will delve into mucilaginous plants as we work with Nopales, Prickly Pear cactus, exploring uses, and indications that include incorporating this arid dweller for food, herbal medicine, first-aid, skin, and hair care. 

 Folks will learn how to process (remove spines and glochid),  make a cold infusion, decoction, and cook with Nopales. 

Participants Must Bring

1 32 oz (quart) clean mason/ball jar with matching lid 

32 ounces filtered water. You can use filtered water from home and transport it in a mason jar

1 sharp knife 

2 hand towels 

1 small bowel 

spoon or a fork

Cutting board 

cup/mug for tea

The class will be held in the Sun Room at Cactus Mart in Morongo Valley, Ca. Mask are required and we will practice social distancing.
